Social media posts - Weight loss injections and pregnancy/contraception
17/06/25 V 2
The North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) weight loss injections and pregnancy/contraception social media plan, for partners, provides content to use and share across social media channels warning women not to use weight loss injections such as Wegovy, Ozempic, Rybelsus or Mounjaro if they are pregnant, trying for a baby, or breastfeeding as there is not yet enough data to know if these medicines are safe for babies.

Women using weight loss injections are also being advised to use reliable non-oral contraception including the implant, coil or condoms while taking the medication, as it can make the pill less effective, especially in the first few weeks, - and to wait at least two months after stopping treatment before trying to get pregnant.
