At Bridges Medical Practice we are here to help you access the right care when you need it. Whether you’re booking a routine appointment, need urgent support, or simply need to update or cancel a visit, there are quick and easy ways to get in touch.

Standard Opening Hours:

• Call: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm on 0191 3009889 (7.30am Thursdays)
• Visit: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:30pm
• eConsult: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:30pm. Complete an online request here

Requesting an appointment

You can request a routine appointment in either of the following ways:

• Call our reception team on (0191 300 9889 between 8:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, (7.30am Thursdays)
• Submit an eConsult through this website anytime between 8:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Once your request is received, it will be reviewed by a doctor and triaged appropriately to ensure you get the right care. You will receive a response the same working day.

Please note, our eConsult service is intended for non-urgent medical matters or administrative queries only.

Same-Day Urgent Triage Appointments

If you need an urgent medical appointment on the same day, please call the practice at 8:00am, Monday to Friday.

Cancel or Change an Appointment

If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

Missing an appointment can prevent someone else from getting care. By letting us know if you can’t come, you’re helping us make the most of NHS resources.

You can cancel the appointment either by:

• Via the NHS App
• By phone – call our reception team. 
• In person – visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist during opening hours. 

When We Are Closed

If you need medical help outside our opening hours, you can use the following services:

Late arrivals

Patients are expected to attend pre-booked appointments on time and allow for travel or other logistical considerations.

If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to ensure other patients are seen promptly. If your situation is clinically urgent, we will do our best to accommodate you later in the surgery.
