Welcome to Bridges Medical Practice

Bridges Medical Practice is an established, friendly GP practice providing first-class primary care in the heart of Gateshead. We are located in Trinity Square Health Centre, close the local shops and pharmacies and transport links.

Technology allows us to offer you a wide range of services from the comfort of your home, such as ordering a repeat prescription, making and cancelling an appointment, as well as accessing part of your medical records.

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues.

Information from the Care Quality Commission

Our practice is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure we are meeting essential standards of quality and safety.

COVID VACCINATION

As part of National Guidance clinics are being held at a central locality as directed by Public Health England. Our eligible patients will be vaccinated at Bede Centre, Old Fold Road, Gateshead, NE10 0DJ. Parking is available at Gateshead Stadium and a shuttle bus will be in operation. Patients will be invited to book appointments (2 needed) by the practice according to the National Immunisation Plan as follows:

  • Group 1 Residents and staff in Care homes
  • Group 2 All patients over 80 years, frontline health and social care staff
  • Group 3 All over 75 years
  • Group 4 All over 70 years plus clinically extremely vulnerable (excluding pregnant women and under 16 years) - date TBC
  • Group 5 All over 65 years - date TBC
  • Group 6 Adults 16-65 years in at risk group (asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease etc - 'usually have a flu jab') - date TBC
  • Group 7 All over 60 years - date TBC
  • Group 8 All over 55 years - date TBC
  • Group 9 All over 50 years - date TBC

Please note we are unable to vaccinate outside of this national plan nor are we aware when each group will be called as this will depend on vaccine availability. It is very important that you ensure we have your correct mobile phone number to enable us to invite you in a timely fashion to book your appointments for vaccination.
